Nazi Forced Labour in Leipzig - Offerings for School Children and Youth Groups

Offerings for School Children and Youth Groups

The memorial offers guided tours and workshops for school classes and youth groups, aimed at inspiring young people to reflect upon the history of the city of Leipzig during the National Socialist era on site.

The focus of our educational offerings is on fates and journeys through life of the former forced labourers and on their working and living conditions. In addition, we will discuss forced labour in the National Socialist state as an everyday phenomenon in Leipzig and the visible public dimension of the crime in the urban space.

The offerings are geared toward teenagers in grades 8/9, with basic background knowledge of National Socialism.

To help us tailor our offerings to the participants‘ interests, we encourage you to touch base with our staff as early as possible. The background knowledge of the teens as well as the expectations of the visit can be discussed jointly during a preliminary conversation.

Upon request, we are happy to prepare special programs related to specific topics (e.g. searching for traces in the own neighbourhood). All offerings are also available in English.

Please get in touch with our staff to obtain further information, ask questions and to register groups.
